H1B extension beyond 6 yrs is possible under 2 circumstances:
a) Labor was filed atleast 365 days before H1B expiry date - which makes you eligible for 1 year extension (NOTE: this does not depend on priority date being current/retrogressed).
b) I-140 has been approved and priority dates are retrogressed. This makes you eligible for 3 yr extension.
So CADude should get 1 yr extension is worst case.
Coming back to your scenario, i don't think you neccessarily need copies of I-140/LC to get H1B xfr. If you have receipt #s of either, you attorney should be able to file H1B xfr case. I know of people who did that in my company. Take a printout of DOL/USCIS case status information if you have receipt # available. If you don't have receipt # as well, then i am afraid, you are out of luck and AC-21 is the only option.

I may travel to India in Oct on AP for first time. I am working on EAD and changed employer with AC21. I will use AP at POE.
1) Do I have to get any transit visa if I go through European countries?

I didnt send the checks,our lawyer did.So,i dont have a clue when they were cashed.
Can any one tell the time between check cleared and Notice issued. My lawyer sent the checks and he will never bother checking his account daily for me. Hence Notice is the only thing i will get.

Leaving with expired I-94 is no issues. My wife recently went India, gave expired i-94 on passport. She did not give the latest i-94 that came with her H4. She got visa stamped from India, and came back without any issues.

The whole non-compete agreement is a cruel joke on the employee who finds his own project. All these incapable bad desi employers ban the employee from joining the client whom the employee got them in the first place.
I know a friend of mine works for an employer, he found his own project through a vendor, now because of non-compete agreement he cannot join the client, nor the vendor and now the employer and vendors are buddies and thinking of other business opportunities. In all this the employee is the loser while it was he who brought the employer and vendor together into minting more money at his expense.

Guys, I did the same mistake. I called the customer service and she told me to post the requested change. I did sent my supporting documents, now I did resend another letter asking to correct.
I just reliazed that I too missed the last entry date field and had already sent the supporting docs this morning.. (efiled on last Saturday).
Can you tell us what are docs that you sent to USCIS to correct missing "last entry date"?

I am on H1B, just filed my GC. I am planning to do a masters degree (i am a B.E now). Any suggestions? I was looking at walden university for online programs. are they any good? Is it worth the money spent??

Education is always a good investment. You may do it for GC or for any other purpose. But my advise would be to pick a good reputed school that you can handle and do something that would help your career.

My question:
Should she change her name prior to applying I-485 or she can do it after we applying I-485.
How easy it�ll be to change last name while I-140 and I-485 pending?
Anyone in the same boat?

Perm Approved - 08/14/2007.
I-140 E-filed - 08/16/2007. Got Online Receipt. Sent the required Documents to USCIS after a week.
I-485/EAD/AP - Posted on 08/16/2007. Included the Online Labor Approval Petition without signatures and Online receipt of I-140.
Received USCIS on 08/17/2007.
Waiting for Receipts.
Don't know whether it will be accepted or will get an RFE.

case was sent to nebraska though should've been texas as employer is in NY, so thought it would be transfered...it wasn't. it shows at nebraska
