I don't think that would work. Here are a couple of articles that seem to suggest that you cannot create your company on H-1B (http://www.laborimmigration.com/2008/01/starting-own-company-on-h-1b-visa/) and also that you cannot volunteer to do a job which would otherwise by a paying job (http://www.laborimmigration.com/2008/02/unpaid-volunteer-work-on-h-1b-h-4-or-f-1-visas/)

I just finished an intership with a company that does essentially what you do, except that they are already established in the Philadelphia Area. I don't know much, but I think your best bet would be to contact local businesses that might need multimedia stuff. Also, put some time into making a really /really/ kickass site, being as it is what is selling your services.

I have e-filed my EAD & AP Renewal last week and trying to send supporting documents and I can't find what needs to be sent for this.....
Questions:
1) Do we need to send any photographs for my AP?
2) Any proof of Identification (passport first page) or Drivers License
3) Any H1 approval notices? (I am still on H1B)
4) Also I filed my AP which is expiring in Dec-08 i.e. 150 days before its expiry and curious to know if anyone�s application got rejected or approved. (I guess 120 days is the limit)
I appreciate your time and response.

Hi,
First my 140 was filed in first week of april and got receipt notice with received date as 11-Apr-08, and in May it was rejected because of check bounce issue.
Again my 140 was refiled in july,and got my 140 receipt notice with received date as 24-Jul-08.
(My labour was approved on 23-Jan-08 and its expiration date is 21-Jul-08,
i think there is rule that 140 should be filed before 180 days of labour approval)
My lawyer is saying:
we first filed it well before the dates,so you should not have a problem, as this is refiled in follow up to the original one.
I am still wondering the USCIS will process my 140.

I am in the same situation.. send docs to Dallas lockbox.
Applied for EAD renewal and documents reached on May7th.. checks not cased yet. I think the whole lockbox is creating the delays but one they get to your application it is relatively quick.
Do let me know when your checks are cased.

Yes its is a very good development....especially a hispanic lobby group is saying this.
Still other allied group need to eventually come to the conclusion and only then it can

Thank you both for the response. Yes, the new filing fees apply as you rightly said and I was able to Efile also.
The link below was useful in efiling. Just one variation though, USCIS schedules the biometrics appointment, so no need to call the 800 # to schedule one as mentioned in the link.

I'm assuming too that your husband is the primary applicant for the I-485. Does your husband have his I-140 approved because if he does then I believe he can file for 3 year extension? In my opinion, it's good to have your H1 or H4 intact just in case something happens to your application. I also think that having EAD and AP also benefits you for emergency purposes. Hope this helps!

I called USCIS to know the status of my I765 and I131 and came to know it got rejected because of sign missing on the form as i had filed my 485 with my EAD and AP i got my 485 receipt month back.
And USCIS said they have mailed my returned application on 13th aug but i have not received it yet.I called USCIS and they said that i can refile it again after 30days if i don't receive my package. Can i file on my own i do have the LIN number for rejected application.Can i file online
please suggest

Same thing happened to my wife's EAD.
USCIS did a mistake on address (forgot to include apt #) and it was returned undeliverable.
Called USICS and spoke to IO , she told us that she will order to resend again.
After 30 days still not received.

I am not sure what can we do about it.
