Is it mandatory to spend [B]at least[B] 6 months residing in the US every calendar year after obtaining a GC? :confused:
If your stay is less than 1 year abroad, you can reenter using just your green card. If you want to stay 1-2 years outside the U.S, you will have to apply for a reentry permit before departure. yes it can happen....
my case: we both filed under premium for our 7th year extension last year and hubby was processed in 5 days, but my H4 took 5 months together with RFE. RFE was stupid enough, they asked to see a copy of already approved H1 7th year.
My advice, wait and see what happens....
Sometimes they pick up H4 a week or so after h1. Good luck.

Experience should be AFTER you get your degree. Also, your experience with current employer cannot be counted unless the new opening is substantially different than your current position.

I hold F1 visa and my new job starts on Sept 1. The int'l student office of my current university mistakenly set my OPT start date on May 6. My OPT has been approved and EAD card arrived.
That is, I will have 120-plus "unemployment" days accumulated by early August, which will then violate the "90-day unemployment rule" of OPT.
I am under tremendous pressure and really want to hear your opinions.

ISO is the one which updates the SEVIS database. Since you claim its their mistake, you should approach them for advise on this as well. I have heard that voluntary work (no pay) in your field of study can help you to maintain your status and not count days towards the 90 day unemployment rule. It costs time, stress, sleepless nights, anxiety, restlessness and some hair loss(the list could be long for others) if you get a RFE relating to AC21, these are all bonus in addition to the money you spend for filing MTR.

I did some research and found out that American sentinel is not in Sevis approved list:

Hi! I'm H1B holder and my company is willing to sponsor the green card. I'm coming from Eastern Europe (Moldova) and in US am working as software developer, I guess it's EB-3, right? I graduated in Romania Bachelor Degree in Mathematics & Computer Science (4 years) and Master Degree in Computer Science & Engineering (2 years). My work experience is more than 7 years. given the priority date and the processing dates i want to understand how the uscis will process our applications
now the Nebraska service center is processing June 8, 2008. so based on the priority date it is processing all the applications that are current and have been filed before June 8th. Now let us say they take an application and start processing it and suddenly the PD goes back and I am not current any more - what do USCIS do. Do they just stack it back or what do they do. any thoughts.

If anyone knows TSC fax number, can you please share that with me. I am a July 2nd 485/ EAD/ AP filer and I didnot receive my AP yet. My H1 visa got expired and i need to goto India ASAP.

I am seeing a trend here, that AP approved but taking 3-4 weeks in being printed and mailed and the online status is not being updated.

So are these different from the finger prints that we take for EAD? For people who got their priority date current, do they ask for a separate finger prints again? Does anyone can shed some light on this?
