Just call your local AAA office and they will tell you everything.. Mostly they take photo in main local office.
If you are plus member you get free 8 photos. I guess for regular member you will 6.
Do they also take digital pics? I have already got photos taken from CVS...and they said its passport pics.......do I still need to take from AAA?

Please appply EAD renewal in 120 days advance. You will get in time. :)
My lawyer said I can work up to 3 months with receipt provided it was applied at least 90 days before expiry...
I think its good to call USCIS directly and confirm.. Most of us will be in same boat sooner or later...
This applies for renewal cases only.. not for first time EAD (actual card needed)

One of our IV members posted today that he got an internal mail from Fragomen that visa numbers for EB2 India and China are done as of Aug 21st.

What do you mean by legal basis. He agreed to pay $2 to company A (in email) until the project ends. If this is correct, he should continue paying $2 to company A. Since the OP stopped paying $2 , company A wants to make sure that the project ended.
Ofcourse, Since thee is no contract or agreement between company A and OP, no need to pay $2. But that is not fair on his part. Company A is not asking for 25-40% from billing, He just asked for $2 per hour.
He has to pay them only if he signed a contract.
These consulting firms are run mostly by bums and will always try to rip people off.
Before start paying, he should have consulted Department of Labor to find out if he really needs to pay and whether company A can demand such terms? These bums take advantage of people who get scared of them.

Usually consulting companies put generic designations like software engineer or a programmer analayst in their LC. I think that is what you should look for the classification. This is a gray area.

Thanks for the good words. My patience is wearing thin as this has been going on for since the start of the year and I have seen PERM applications filed later than mine getting approved. My concern has to do more with the employer keeping me in the dark about the outcome and at the time H1 expires just lets me GO citing rejection or audit!! You can call me paranoid as the filing hasnt materialized and me in the 7th year just adds to the distress.
Just get the receipt number from your employer and check the status yourself.

I traveled on AP in 2009 in Lufthansa airlines from Chicago and the airlines asked me about the plan of reentry as I had no VISA in passport before issuing boarding pass. I had to show it to them. I'm not sure, what happens if you say you don't have it with you.
If I'm in your situation, I would rather postpone the trip for few days.

You nearly aged out but since your priority date became current before your 21st birthday, you should be eligible to get an immigrant visa. CSPA protects you here. Also they should deduct about four months (period your father's I140 was outstanding) from your current age. This makes you eligible for a visa. See what happens at your next appointment but ask your Dad to talk to an immigration attorney in the US.

It's OK to stay while change of status (COS) is pending if COS was filed before I-94 expiration (your case). Even though your wife will be technically out of status after 1/3/09, she is not going to accumulate unlawful presence because her stay is authorized by US Attorney General. Out of status is not a big deal. A person who came on H1 and filed for AOS does not have any status if H1 expires, but that person is lawfully present in US.
So wait for a decision on COS and if it is denied, your wife has 180 days to get a lawful status or to pack and leave without any adverse consequences.

Looks at the pointless argument going over between messers snram4 and u.misc. Check their history and make up your own mind. I cannot imagine someone with any semblance of maturity could engage in just hideously low level argument. So obviously there is an agenda at work. To each is own . But please, its funny only if your audience finds it funny and there is nothing funny about the Feb visa bulletin no matter which part of the world you are from.
I only recently discovered IV and use to just read posts on Murthy earlier. It seems like some of the imbeciles from Murthy may have made their way here. There is so much nonsensical and agenda based talk on Murthy its not funny. And most galling is the fact that two of my posts that contained strong arguments against certain **famous** posters were not published!! They allow posts with name calling and rude language, but not with strong rebuttals against certain schools of thought.

I have done it once. It all depends on your relationship with your current employer. If they are ok with it, you shouldnt have any problems.

try POJO method to reach IO. You can find in "n" number of threads to reach IO based upon your service center. but it's based on your luck to get polite and cordial IO. Try multiple times and speak politely.

Once you get an IO, be very polite, and take notes for your records. Ask them for their badge number. That way you can reference each conversation by date and the badge number of the IO.

3) Has it been assigned to an officer ?
4) When can I expect to get some updates on my case ?
5) Can you help me with a ball park date on when my case will be assigned to an officer?

This employer already hurt you by revoking your 140 and seems like you are not a big fan of his. Why don't you file a WH4 form with DOL for Feb'08 to Apr'08 salary. That way it becomes your ex-employer problem and you can explain your status all the way from Jan'08 to Apr'08.

During this time my relation with my employer gone bad and he threatened to cancel my H1. I transferred my H1 to the new company and is on project and is working with them from May 2008 till now. Since my W2 is only $50,000 I'm worried about my immigration prospects. My previous employer withdrew my I140 application. I�m in my 6th year and just started my Labor process with the new company.
My current company is ready to help me, but they cannot run any payroll for last year, but can provide bonus for last year to make the total of last year up to $60k. They are a small co. and have never done this before.
How can we include this bonus in my W2 (I haven't filed my taxes so far, the company also hasn't filed their 2008 taxes)

what is interesting is why is EB2 stuck on Jan 2003? At least with EB3 we know that due to 245(i) it was stuck for a long time in April. I still can't figure out EB2 is stuck for such a long time in Jan 03.

Lets all focus our energies on a common cause. I understand feelings and we do vent and we do find interesting articles to quote from and I know there is no bad intent. However we need lawmakers to fully understand our cause. Its the simple theory "why do you I have to care about you, if you are looking ways to have laugh at me":) Pen is mightier than a sword is the common phrase, in this case "keyboard" is! Have fun and did I hear CIR is dead, I know there will be something in the form of immigration bill passed before the election based on all I read and it won't be an enforcement only bill. They are having hearings around the country, something will work out for sure, at least thats what I hope for.
